I can't believe it's something from the Fissure of Wow - Gloom Seed. That severely limits the number of players who can farm them. Mpst will have to buy them at the normal exhorbitant price for a Nicholas item.
Bad, bad item selection on ArenaNet's part.

Can kill every thing on beach, make sure spiders are not all next to each other or there healing springs will make them impossible to kill.

I can't believe the amount of QQ for this. Sure, its not red iris flowers, but its still pretty easy to get.
Edit: No maps, but here is the basic idea. Follow the wall behind you and head right. Avoid the shadow mobs. Up ahead after climbing up a hill, you will see a small path heading to your right. Wait a moment, and a large group of shadow creatures will run out of it. Do your best to side step and avoid them, and once they are out of the path, head down that way. Down that way, you will find your first snarling driftwood mobs. Farm and kill those. Then, you will be by the beach (there is watery shoreline there). There are scales there that give 10 degen and can kill you pretty fast. Avoid those by skimming the wall. You should see a few more driftwoods. Kill those. If you want to farm some more, you can farm by entering a cave to your left and kill all the cave spiders (like from the minipet and tonic) to try to get shards.

Why does it limit the players who can farm them? There's a simple farming build for the beach and/or the forest for every prof I can think of, and the SF build is completely standard. Furthermore, you can *gasp* go down with other players too. 1k/8 people = 125g per. If you get two white drops, you're basically paid for, and that's not even considering the possibility of shards. I'm fairly certain that collector drops are affected by LS, so it's not like you're so much more inefficient by taking a half full, or even full, party.

1 run just to try, me 600 with smiter hero, 6 seeds, 1 shard, 9 golds, 3/4 stack of dust rest of bags full of grapes and blues, 79 iron. Only went to forest, didn't have time to go to beach. Guess I'll do a bunch of runs after work, could be good.

This is relatively easy to farm. If people can't manage it, then they are not very good players. Considering multiple classes can solo the area, I don't see what makes this hard to get.

OK, I apologize to ArenaNet for my comment. I'm reading FoW and thinking UW. I blame it on my lack of sleep this weekend.
